SAMSUNG TO UNVEIL THE FUTURE OF FOLDABLE SMARTPHONES AT CES 2023.

Samsung flex solo

At CES 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Samsung will present its new line of sliding and folding devices. The Samsung flex hybrid is a revolutionary technology that blends two cutting-edge smartphone display technologies into one single device.

We’ve been convinced that foldable displays are the newest advancement in smartphone technology, but some could argue that it’s sliding screens?
Samsung, who you would think would be equally uncertain as the rest of us, has selected to go with both.

They will present a single display at CES 2023 that combines sliding and folding features. The “Flex Hybrid” design will have folding technology on the left side of the screen and slideable technology on the right.

This means Samsung users can unfold the display to reveal a 10.5-inch screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio. By sliding out the right edge It may be expanded to a 12.4-inch panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio. If the durability is adequate and the price isn’t outrageous, the flexibility would definitely be a win for people who work and play on the go like myself.

The Flex Hybrid display basically works by having a foldable display on the left, and a slidable one on the right.

Samsung flex duet.

We already witnessed a 17-inch sliding display for next gen laptops which was teased at Intel’s Innovation 2022 conference back in September By Samsung Display CEO JS Choi. Its Flex Slidable Solo design allowed for one-way screen expansion.

The Samsung flex hybrid Duet can expand both left and right. This product is set to make its debut in front of the general audience at CES 2023

It may take some time before the new technology begins to filter down into widely available products that you can buy since it is unknown if any consumer devices using the new tech will be announced.

Watching how Samsung incorporates this innovative Flexible Hybrid technology in its current line-up of foldables, like the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series will definitely be interesting.

If the Duet idea were adopted, users would be able to stretch the display in both directions for an even larger screen, turning the Fold into more of a tablet than it currently is. Users would be able to view more of the scene at once when watching movies or gaming.
